Well done to the quiz team of Cormac, Eoin, Fiachra and Brian who came second in the St. Columba's Credit Union Quiz Competition. The boys performed superbly and answered some very difficult questions.

We loved having our Grandparents come to visit our school this week. It was really special to be able to show them our school and our classrooms and we really enjoyed performing for all our guests. Thank you to all the grandparents who made it in and for answering our questions. We hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did.
We had two very special guests this week. Will Softly and Guzzler from SEAI (that’s the Sustainable Energy Association of Ireland), came to talk to us about all the different ways of saving energy and about Energy Chains. Did you know, that we get our energy from the sun? It’s called solar power! Will has also kindly invited us to visit him in Brigit’s Garden.
We were learning about forces and energy and what could make a boat float. We investigated this by designing a boat that would float and carry at least four passengers. It was very tricky coming up with the best design and shape for our boats but we managed to get some boats to float without sinking. One group even managed to fit forty passengers!!😁

We loved welcoming Ms. Ní Chártaigh’s First Class into our room to have our first Chess Jamboree just before Christmas. All the boys really enjoyed the event and putting our new chess skills into play.
We are so lucky to be able to work with our Artist in Residence, Ann, for the next 7 weeks. The boys are looking forward to building up their Art Portfolios and learning new skills.
