Space Week in Scoil Iósaif Naofa By Christian Chukwudi and Cillian Gillespie

This week is space week in Scoil Iósaif Naofa. In 5th class for space week, we learnt about outer space. We did a scavenger hunt on questions about the solar system. We made projects on the solar system. Also, we learnt about Curiosity, the Mars Rover. An astronaut on the International Space Station read us a book about called “Curiosity”. For Art, we used oil pastels and chalk to make pictures of the solar system. Yesterday we did a workshop on space weather. Today, we did a table quiz on space, the questions were like; “What is the closest planet to the Sun?” or “Who was the first person on the Moon?”

The Process of Pollination!

Recently, we have been learning about the process of pollination in our science lessons. In order to gain a full understanding of how flowers reproduce, we dissected some lilies to identify the different parts of a flower. The boys then gave a full scientific explanation of pollination. Great work boys!

European Day of Languages

We sang Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes in Gaeilge and Spanish today. Many of us know words in other European languages too and shared them with the class.
