Congratulations to our HPS Committee for all their hard work in helping us achieve our latest award.
A huge amount of work was put into these projects. The boys researched and presented these projects to the class. Their knowledge was vast and we all learned a lot from the projects! Well done to the boys for all their effort and a thank you to you parents who also helped the boys.
We had a chance today to play with Bee Bots, these are little robots that need coding in order to move. We made our own paths, followed patterns and created a maze in order to code our Bee Bots.🐝 There is also an app on the iPads that we will hopefully soon be working on to codes Bee Bots.
Playing Boom Boom Balloon today in silence was great fun! To play this game and get the benefits from it you need to play it in silence. The anticipation that the balloon 🎈 is going to burst raises the children’s cortisol level, with each push of the rod their levels rise as you can see from their faces and busy language. When the ballon finally bursts you can see the release the children get and it brings their cortisol level right down again. This is similar to tensing your body and then releasing it. The sense of release can be felt all over the body. Here the release can be felt in body and mind and brings a calm to the boys (after the excitement of the balloon bursting!).
This week is Engineering Week, 3rd, 3rd/4th and 4th Class all went into NUIG to learn how Superheros are normal people with super powers. We learned how to make these superpowers into a reality! We looked at Super Strength, X- Ray Vision, Saving the Planet, Saving Lives and Lasers. Engineering is a really interesting and exciting job, there are so many possibilities out there in this job. So who wants to be an engineer now 🙋🏻♂️🙋🏽♂️🙋🏼♀️🙋🏽♀️
