Space Week - 4th - 10th October 2021

During Space Week we completed projects on the planets using Google Slides on our Chromebooks. We created Space Art using paint and we also designed 3D rockets. Some interesting facts that I learnt about space include that Mercury is the smallest planet and it is shrinking in size. One of Venus' craters is the same size as Western Europe. By James J.

Lego Six Bricks

Today fifth class used Lego six bricks to complete short, simple exercises which are designed to wake up the brain and get the boys moving, thinking and remembering. Today we played " Kim's Game". Ms. Lavelle arranged her six bricks on an A4 card at her desk. Groups of boys took turns coming up to see her arrangement of bricks. The boys then returned to their desk to recall the layout of the bricks.

Trip to the Library

We were invited to the library to do some drawing with illustrator, Aga Grandowicz. We had a great trip. Aga told us all about the endangered bird, the Curlew. After we learned about the Curlew Aga helped us to draw our own one. We then stuck them to a background that Aga had prepared for us. Our drawings are now on display in the Library for everyone to see. We really enjoyed our trip to the library and we hope to go back again soon.

Baking Warming Apple Muffins

In our english book we had a story which included a recipe for Apple Muffins. After reading the story and learning the procedure to follow to make the muffins we decided to make them. In our pods we took turns doing different jobs to make our muffins.....the best job was eating them when we were finished!
