The boys have really enjoyed learning traditional Irish dancing. Thank you to our SNA, Ann, and Support Teacher, Ms. Mulcahy, for helping us master the Siege of Ennis. Go raibh míle maith agaibh! We rocked the céilí! We also enjoyed the Lá Glas and Ms. Mulcahy’s Tráth na gCeist.
Translation: Love Conquers All Our school art project is complete! The boys from both First Classes were delighted with the end product! What do you think? You can see it for yourself hanging outside the reception next time you visit the school! While Ann was in, she showed us how to use candles and paint to create art! Our Art Journals are filling up nicely!
We recently received a visit from Aoife of Dogs Trust Ireland. Aoife reminded us of all the things we need to consider before getting a dog. The boys really enjoyed the workshop but were very surprised to learn that there were so many dogs seeking new homes in Ireland. The boys also learned how not to stay safe around dogs and to always ask a dog owners permission before approaching their dog. Thank you Aoife.
We were delighted to recently welcome children’s author John Quinn to Scoil Iósaif Naofa. John spoke to the boys about the importance of tapping into our imaginations and using descriptive words when writing our stories! John even read an excerpt from his most recent books. Thank you John.
We were super excited to begin work with our Artist in Residence, Ann O’Byrne, who will be showing us some new techniques over the coming weeks (starting Feb.1st). The boys have already made their first installments in their new Artist Journals and will be adding to them over the coming weeks.

The boys are working closely with our Artist in Residence and the boys in Ms. Ní Chártaigh’s First Class to create a piece of art our school. Work began in earnest back on the 15th February last! Here’s a sneak preview!
