It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!

Our caretaker Brendan, has been busy.

Science week

During Science week, the boys constructed volcanoes using clay, cardboard and paint. Afterwards, they enjoyed watching in anticipation as they erupted their creations in the school yard! Over the course of the week, we learned about lots of famous Irish inventors as well as investigating the significant role science plays in our everyday lives!

Blast Off!!

As part of Science week, Second class made rockets using paper and straws. They tested them and made any necessary changes to their rockets before launching them outside. We had a lot of fun!

Engineers at work!

The boys gathered lots of recycled materials to build their beautiful houses. They planned, sketched, researched images on the I Pads and gave great feedback and ideas to their peers on their designs! They spent lots of time constructing and decorating their lovely houses. Lots of fun was had!

Report Writing

The boys have worked very hard to publish their first piece of writing as part of the Writing Workshop. They spent lots of time researching a topic of their choice and used non-fiction texts and the I pads to find out lots of information. They put lots of detail into their writing and their illustrations. Fantastic work boys!

Maths Trails

The boys have been very busy with their outdoor learning, taking part in many maths trails on the school grounds. They have worked hard on their problem solving skills and have had lots of fun along the way!
